Muscle spasms

by Mary Bohley
(Berlin, MD. USA)

I suffer with muscles, located near and around the scapula, that spasm. It comes on when I am standing for lengths of time. It lasts all day and sometimes wakes me in the night. It can last for weeks and is very draining. I have had Botox injections with a pain management doctor and they helped in the beginning for about 5 - 6 months. But that has not been helping lately. I have tried physical therapy and they massage the muscles in the back and that is wonderful. However, it does not last. I spend most of my time sitting on the sofa with a heating pad to get relief. I have a mild case of scoliosis and also osteoporosis. Do you know of other people who suffer with this? also, is there anything out there that might help me?

upper back spasms
by: Sarah says

Hello Mary,

I have just finished writing a new page for the other website simplebackpain.com and it strikes me that you might find some really good information that you can use. I do hope so.
Here is the link on Upper back pain when breathing
You also mention that you have a mild spinal curvature. Here is another link on spinal scoliosis
The osteoporosis that you mention is unlikely to give you this pain.
I will be adding more photos to this page later today.
Maybe you will be the first to read this page Mary!
