problems from C4

Sarah,
I have L4,5 problems but your book The Back Sufferers Bible (recommended by my GP) and exercises saved the day, that area is now fine to the extent that 3 weeks ago I had three hernias repaired and haven't been able to do the daily exercises but the back is holding up well.
A problem has arisen with numbness in my left forearm, 3rd and 4th fingers and part of the left hand, I am told this is caused by C4, I had an MRI a couple of years ago and showed deterioration at C4, can you point me in the direction of suitable exercises to bolster this area, I am not able to work out from the book which exercises may be suitable as the all seemed aimed at the lumbar spine

Thank you for the reply. I had obtained a copy of "the Body in Action". Noted the interaction of the thoracic spine and had selected several exercises to do. I hadn't chosen the swastika but will add it to the routine. I am currently combining my lower back exercises with the upper back exercises taking note of your 1/2 hour daily routine in the Body in Action. As my body recovers from the recent surgery I wll add back those that I haven't been able to do. I hope to let you know haow things go in a month or twos time

C4 problems

HELLO Russell,
My many apologies for a response that appears to have formerly been lost in cyberspace.
I'm glad you found 'The Back Sufferers' Bible' a help with your previous lower back problem.
The book 'Body in Action' deals with the cervical and thoracic spines, plus all the body's peripheral joints and the best way of treating them yourself.
You need to be doing the 'swastika' exercise for your neck to help drain the C4 facet joint of an excess of fluid.
